How to make an easy Granola in 9 easy steps

Our bodies are so precious and unique, so it’s our job to nourish it with beautiful foods that are cleansing and nutritious. We want to be feeding our bodies everyday with foods that benefit our health and mind, not ones that sabotage us.

There is growing evidence that we should limit our daily sugar intake. So we would love to share with you a very simple recipe that is fructose free and can be achieved by absolutely anyone, no skills required……I promise!

Superfood - Coconut Oil, and rice malt syrup are the binders of this delicious granola recipe we are about to share with you.

Coconut and Rice Malt Granola

 Makes: 1 x container full, approximately 1 litre

Preparation time: 15 mins

Baking time: 30 mins

You will need:

½ cup of rice malt syrup

¼ cup of coconut oil

¼ cup of boiling water

2 cups of Plain Oats

1 cup of mixed raw nuts (optional & unsalted) you can leave whole or you can crush them. You can use any nuts that you love!

Method:

Step 1: Pre-heat oven to 165℃ fan forced and line a large slice-baking tray with baking paper.

Step 2: Pour the Oats and Nuts (optional) into a large bowl.

Step 3: Heat rice malt syrup and coconut oil in a saucepan until melted (approx. 30-60 seconds)

Step 4: Add rice malt syrup and coconut to the oats mixture and stir through evenly.

Step 5: Add ¼ cup of boiling water to the mixture and stir well.

Step 6: Tip mixture onto the baking paper and spread evenly about 1cm thick.

Step 7: Bake for 30 mins until golden brown for a crunchier texture leave for an extra 5 minutes.

Step 8: Remove from the oven and leave on the tray, to cool completely.

Step 9: Once cooled, crumble up the granola in chunks and place into an airtight container.

Enjoy this recipe for breakfast as a cereal, a snack, or use as a topping for your natural yoghurt to add a little pizazz.
